Who are the Rotten Thorns…
In 2020, the first daemons of Rotten Thorns summoned from the darkness of Hel when Marco (drums) and Junker (guitar) wanted to change the death metal scene for all future to come. Soon after Mike (the screamerer) got summoned. Henke (bass) joined some months later and the first lineup was a fact.
In 2022 the band recorded its first demos that were released during 2023.
Late In 2022 Marco was summoned home and returned to the deepest chambers of Hel and was eventually replaced by Tarzan. November 2023 Jacob (2nd guitar) was summoned to complete the line-up and sound.
In 2024 and onwards the band is recording new songs that will be released sometime in the future further developing the music and the sound.
Our music
We get our inspiration from all places. If you listen, you can clearly hear some punk in there, some old school death metal, some thrash and even some old 90:s grunge. The central part in the songs is based around guitar riffs and the vocals.
Our biggest inspiration though comes from the life and death all around us.

Our lyrics
Our lyrics are based on the struggles we all have inside and out. They stem from the darkness from within but also from the darkness and the madness that surrounds us all.
We are so fucking angry
We do not make happy or “nice” music. If you want that kind of music, turn on the fucking radio. Our music isn´t played on the radio – nor should it be.
If the current world situation teaches us anything it is that the we all need some really heavy fucking metal to keep us afloat. With all the stupidity around us we need to vent the steam before we all explode in a bloody mess….
